A 19-year-old Yonkers Man was stopped and later arrested after he tried to walk out of Walmart with a desktop computer and two area rugs he didn't pay for, Norwalk police said.
David Lupo was headed for the exit, where a black van was waiting, according to police. The van later left, but Lupo was prevented from leaving in it by a store security person who stopped him at the door.
The total value of the items stolen, including sales tax, was $673.12, according to police.
Lupo has had multiple arrests in the past, police said. He was charged with fifth-degree larceny and held on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 19 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
