Police: Woman Stopped at Housing Project Had Wet Marijuana

Street team officer says he spotted handoff of drugs to her.

A police "street team" officer arrested a city woman Sunday after allegedly finding her in possession of "wet" marijuana: marijuana that has been dipped in PCP-laced embalming fluid.

Officer Kyle Lipeika reported he was driving by the Washington Village public housing project in South Norwalk when he saw a group of five or six people in the area of the basketball courts. He said he observed a male hand something to a female.

Lipeika stopped his car and reported when the members of the group saw him, they began walking away in different directions.

Lipeika said he approached the woman he saw being handed something and told her to stop, which she did. He said he questioned her about what she received and she made some sort of reply with slurred speech.

Lipeika said the woman, later identified Adrienne DeJesus, gave off a chemical smell. He reported asking her if she was carrying anything and she allegedly handed him a clear plastic bag containing a green, plant-like substance that had a strong chemical odor. Lipeika identified the contents as wet marijuana.

DeJesus was held on $7,500 bond and given a court date of July 10.
