Police: Woman Arrested For Not Talking To Officers After Making 911 Call

Wanted her boyfriend put out, but he leaves before police arrive.

A woman's request that police make her boyfriend leave her Gregory Boulevard apartment Sunday night resulted in her being arrested for refusing to speak to the officers dispatched to the call.

Police said Kimberly Colimb called 911 at 9:56 p.m. reporting her boyfriend refused to leave, and three officers were sent to her address. While they were en route, Clolimb called 911 to say her boyfriend had left and she no longer needed police assistance.

By department protocol, the officers had to continue to ensure she was safe, said department spokesman Sgt. David O'Connor.

When the officers arrived, they reported knocking on the door and Colimb shouting to them that she was in bed.

After knocking several more times, Colimb opened the door and told the officers she was fine. The officers said they requested she come out of the apartment, to which she allegedly replied, "I'm through talking with you," then closed the door and locked it.

O'Connor said Colimb made a third 911 call requesting the officers leave. A dispatcher advised her she had to speak with the officers. She opened the door and was arrested for interferring with an officer and misusing a 911 emergency system.

Columb, 47, of 186 Gregory Blvd., was held on $5,000 bond and given a court date of June 28.
