Police: 4 Felons Arrested on Gun Charges After Tip

Norwalk police say they stopped a car on Connecticut Avenue Monday evening and arrested five men, four of them felons, after finding three guns in the car, two of them with serial numbers removed.

After police were tipped off that guns were in the possession of several men in a car, Norwalk police stopped the vehicle at about 7:30 p.m. Monday, found three guns and arrested five men—four of them felons.

Police said members of the Special Services Division conducted the stop on Connecticut Avenue without a struggle. A 25-caliber handgun, a .380 handgun and a 44/410-caliber revolver were seized, and two of the weapons had their serial numbers removed, police said. All were sent to the state police laboratory for further testing.

Police said they are asking federal authorities to prosecute the case, since four of the five men arrested are convicted felons. The Special Services Division "is continuing this investigation involving drugs and violence [...] in the city of Norwalk."
