Police: Drugs Found in Car, Occupants Arrested

Tip about driver with a suspended license results in "street team" spotting suspect's car.

An undercover Special Services “street team” arrested two people on drug charges Tuesday afternoon after spotting a car reportedly being operated by a driver with a suspended license.

Police spokesman Lt. Praveen John said the officers knew the license plate of the suspected driver’s car and spotted the vehicle in a gas station on Connecticut Avenue.

The officers reported observing a male exit another car in the station and enter the first car, leading them to suspect a drug transaction was occurring.

The car’s two occupants were ordered to exit the vehicle. The officers found marijuana and crack cocaine in the vehicle, John said.

Octavia Samuel, 23, of 479 Grand St., Bridgeport, was charged with manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana, illegal possession of a narcotic, illegal possession of a narcotic within 1,500 of a school, and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

Samuel was held on $25,000 bond and given a court date of Dec. 7.

Christopher Adams, 45, of 9 Union Ave., Norwalk, was charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana. Adams was released on a promise to appear in court.
