Police Arrest Stamford Man In Credit Card Fraud Case

Norwalk Police arrest man for alleged credit card fraud.

A Stamford man was arrested in connection with an alleged credit card fraud case where a Norwalk woman discovered more than $600 worth of items charged to her.

Michael Gian, 51,  of 40 Puritan Road in Stamford, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with fifth-degree larceny and criminal attempt to commit larceny.

According to police officials, a woman came to headquarters in Norwalk with a complaint that she had charges from Post Road Electric on two different occasions. The total charges exceeded $600.

Upon investigation, police officials contacted Post Road Electric and they confirmed that there was an arrangement for a pick up of goods that were charged to the woman's credit card. The person who made the order went by the name of "Frank." Gian was the person who came to Post Electric to pick up the items. Police questioned and then arrested Gian. He is due in court on Dec. 28.

Police say the investigation remains open and has been given to the detective bureau.
