Nothing Missing Following Courthouse Break-In

Individual seen running from the area could not be located, state police said.

State troopers dispatched to the Norwalk Courthouse Sunday night found a person had entered the building through a broken window, but apparently nothing was taken.

An alarm was received from the building at approximately 10:56 p.m.

The courthouse at 17 Belden Ave. houses state Superior Court in Norwalk, which is why state troopers conducted the investigation.

In a news release, Sgt. Donna Tadiello said an individual was observed running from the area, but an extensive search failed to locate the suspect.

All leads are being followed to apprehend this person, Tadiello said.

She said items of an evidentiary value were located inside the building, and an active investigation is being conducted by the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Unit.

Anyone with information is asked to call Troop G in Bridgeport at (203) 696-2500.
