Norwalk Teen Caught Selling Marijuana

Norwalk Police arrests, March 20.

Joseph Ponger, 18, of Macintosh Road, was arrested on March 20 at 8:52 p.m. and charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Police said the arrest came after a motor vehicle stop on Overlook Road. An officer on patrol's car shook as the car Ponger was a passenger in drove by, so the officer initiated a motor vehicle stop.

Ponger was observed stuffing his hand down his pants quickly then removing it. He was then asked to get out of the car, and police patted him down to make sure he didn't have a weapon. Police felt "something hard near his groin," and Ponger admitted having marijuana in his possession. Police found 14 bags of the drug, together weighing 15 grams.
