Norwalk Police Want Your Opinion Your Interaction With Officers

About 1,000 surveys will be mailed out to measure opinions of people who have had contacts with officers.

The Norwalk Police Department, working in conjunction with the Sacred Heart University Department of Criminal Justice, will conduct a Citizen Satisfaction Survey of those people who have recently been in contact with Norwalk Police Officers.

Over the next several weeks, approximately 1,000 survey forms will be mailed out to measure the opinions of people who have had voluntary and involuntary contacts with officers.

The names of survey recipients will be obtained from recent police incident reports, arrest reports, motor vehicle accident reports as well as misdemeanor summonses and infractions.

The survey will ask citizens to evaluate certain elements of their encounter with Norwalk Police Officers as well as to provide their general opinion about the Norwalk Police Department and the level of service provided to the citizens of Norwalk.

A self-addressed return envelope will be provided with the survey allowing the respondent to mail the survey anonymously, directly to Sacred Heart University.  Those citizens who receive survey forms are urged to take a few moments to complete the survey and let their voice be heard.  The most recent Citizen Satisfaction Survey was conducted in 2008 with the assistance of Sacred Heart University.
