Norwalk Police Use Craigslist to Catch Alleged Prostitutes

Undercover Norwalk police officers conducted a sting operation using the online message board site Craigslist to capture two women on prostitution charges Tuesday.

Members of the Special Services Division of the Norwalk Police Department used the online message board Craigslist to catch two women Tuesday afternoon who were allegedly offering sex for money, according to Lt. Jim Walsh.

In the first case, an undercover officer contacted Sophie Larevoy, 21, whose last known address was 5 Allen Road in Norwalk, through a Craigslist ad. The officer arranged to meet Larevoy on Chestnut Street, and prior to the meeting she allegedly texted him a list of sexual services she could perform and how much each would cost.

She was arrested after meeting up with an officer at about 3 p.m.
