Police: Norwalk Man Slapped Girlfriend So Hard She Fell to Ground

The incident occurred early Sunday morning outside the Bungalow Night Club in Stamford, according to Stamford Police. The following information was provided by the Stamford Police Department. The arrest or charges do not indicate a conviction.

Norwalk's Bryan Sanchez, 22, has been arrested in Stamford on charges that he struck his girlfriend so hard outside a nightclub that she fell to the ground.

While the situation began at the , located at 184 Summer St., the actual arrest occured 2:52 a.m. Sunday morning down the street at 118 Summer St., according to Sgt. Robert Shawinsky of the Stamford Police Department.

"Mr. Sanchez and his girlfriend, who was visiting from Mexico, went to dance at the Bungalow Lounge. An unknown male asked Sanchez's girlfriend to dance, and an argument ensued between the couple," Shawinsky said.

"Upon leaving Bungalow, the argument between Sanchez and his girlfriend escalated until he snatched her cell phone out of her hand and slapped her, causing her to fall to the ground."

The police department's arrest report of the incident states that a bystander called police, and that the victim, whose name has not been released, went to a safehouse.

Sanchez was arrested at the scene and will appear Monday in state Superior Court in Stamford.
