The holidays may be over, but the crackdown on DUI by the Norwalk Police Department is not. Authorities announced there will be a DUI checkpoint on Saturday, January 7, beginning at 8 p.m.
According to police officials, the checkpoint will be in the area of West Avenue. A roadblock will be in place that will be manned by at least eight officers.
In a report released by the Connecticut State Police on Tuesday, the number of DUI arrests during the holiday weekend dropped for 61 last year to 44 this year.
