Norwalk PD: Man Steals Steaks, Shrimp from Stop & Shop

The suspect was caught with more than $100 in stolen merchandise.


A Stop and Shop employee reportedly witnessed a man put multiple bags of shrimp inside of his jacket before moving to isle four, where he stuffed multiple steaks inside of his jacket, police said.  

The man reportedly stole a $24 rib eye steak, a $28 rib eye steak, a $14 top loin steak and two bags of easy-peel shrimp valued at $20 each, police said.

After he stuffed his jacket with food, the suspect walked out of the store, according to an arrest report.  

Norwalk police issued Michael Gibson, 50, of Norwalk, a summons to court for sixth-degree larceny, police said.  

Gibson is due in court May 1.
