The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 14 Shorefront Park early Saturday morning, but no injuries were reported, according to a statement released by Deputy Chief Gino Gatto.
Fire companies E5, E2, E3, T2, T1, R1 and C2 were dispatched and E5, which was the first to arrive, reported smoke coming from the one-an-a-half story wood frame residential home. Officials were met by the occupants outside.
Officials quickly located a fire in the basement and began extinguishment. Primary search and ventilation were conducted simultaneously. The first floor was checked for fire extension, but none was found. Inspector McDonald from the Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause, according to Gatto.
