Norwalk Man Shot on Friday Dies From Injuries [UPDATE]

Norwalk resident Joseph Bateman, 20, who reportedly had ties to the 2010 murder of Amos "A.J." Brown, was found lying on a sidewalk at about 5:41 p.m. by officers responding to reports of shots fired in the area.

According to police, Bateman was found on the ground along the river on Belden Avenue behind Avalon Apartments. Officers at the scene said he was unresponsive and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. The EMTs ventilated Bateman while transporting him to Norwalk Hospital, but he was later pronounced dead.

Police, who said that they are currently interviewing witnesses, added that although multiple shots were fired, only one bullet struck Bateman.

Joseph Bateman, 20, who reportedly had ties to the 2010 murder of Amos "A.J." Brown, was found lying on a sidewalk at about 5:41 p.m. by officers responding to reports of shots fired in the area, according to reports in the Hour of Norwalk and Stamford Advocate. He was rushed to , where he later died from his injuries, according to the reports.
