Norwalk Man in Stolen Car Busted in Redding
Using its newest technology, the Redding Police Department caught a man driving a stolen van through town.
Using , caught a 51-year-old Norwalk man driving a stolen motor vehicle on Hill Road near the town center on Wednesday, June 6 at about 11:30 a.m.
Archie Tarantino was driving on Hill Road when the new technology—which scans license plates and checks them against a database which contains a "hitlist" of vehicles that are afoul of the law—notified an officer the vehicle had a license plate stolen out of Danbury attached to it.

Upon investigation, police revealed the vehicle, a 2008 Honda Odyssey, had been stolen from the town of Bethel.
Tarantino was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle (larceny in the second degree), theft of a license plate, driving without a license and operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.

Tarantino was held on $25,000 bond and arraigned on June 7.
