Norwalk Man Faces Charge for 'Indecent Sunbathing' at Local Beach

A 60-year-old man is facing a second-degree breach of peace charge after he was "observed indecently sunbathing on the rocks" at Greenwich Point Park, according to Greenwich Police.

The man — sans clothing — was spotted by children near the shellfishing beds "at the southern most point of the park, past the second concession stand," said police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

It all happened about 1:30 p.m. June 27.

"The kids saw him and ran away and told an older cousin who called police," Gray said. "It caused inconvenience, annoyance and alarm."

Police arrested Thomas A. Belmont, of 1 Forbell Dr., Norwalk. He was released on a written promise to appear July 3 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
