Norwalk Man Charged with Sex Assault

He allegedly fondled a 15-year-old girl while she slept.

A 37-year-old Norwalk man was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor following investigation into a complaint filed by a 15-year-old female last month.

Roosveth Munoz, of Platt Street, allegedly touched the girl in her “genital region” while she was sleeping, which caused her to wake up, according to Sergeant James Boff.

The incident happened in October 2012, and the girl reported it to police March 8.

Munoz, who was arrested at 6:11 a.m. on April 4, was held on $35,000 bond and given an April 4 court date.

Randy Marucci, 33, of Broad Street was charged with sixth-degree larceny on April 3 after he allegedly stole a dress shirt, sunglass and perfume—totaling $51.97—from TJ Maxx. He was an absconder from probation, Boff said, so was held on $5,000 bond and given an April 11 court date.

Two young Norwalk men were charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana following an April 3 motor vehicle stop on Monroe Street. Stephen Rodas, 22, of Fillow Street and Jeremy Rogers, 19, of Silk Street were charged, while Rogers was held on $150 bond and is to appear in court April 12.

Daniel Jayne, 30, of Wilton was charged with sixth-degree larceny on April 3. He was released on a promise to appear in court this month.

Matthew Fisher, 26, of Union Park, was charged with third-degree identity theft and criminal impersonation after he allegedly registered a cell phone to his neighbor but was using it himself. He was released on a promise to appear in court April 11.
