Norwalk Man Charged with DWI after Police Chase in Port Chester

Police: Driver has no license, had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

 

A Norwalk man seen speeding on Westchester Avenue was charged with drunken driving after leading police on a brief chase in Port Chester, according to Port Chester Police.

Oliver Fuentes, 21, of 1 Taylor Ave., police said, was found to have more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system and he was driving without a license, police said.

A Port Chester police officer spotted Fuentes speeding on Westchester Avenue and tried to pull his car over at about 8:50 a.m. Wednesday. Police said Fuentes sped off but was stopped by police a short time later on Irving Avenue.

When questioned, Fuentes told police he did not have a driver's license. At the time, police said, Fuentes also appeared intoxicated.

Fuentes was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and he was cited for not wearing his seat belt. Fuentes faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
