Norwalk Man Arrested for Firing Pellet Gun in Wilton

Police determined that the weapon was a BB gun.

A 59-year-old man was arrested on Sunday after received a call that he was firing a handgun into the water behind Kent Plaza, according to Sgt. John Lynch.

Bruce Mickalowski, 59, of 19 Slocum St., Norwalk, according to a police report, was with a seven-year-old child when officers witnessed him holding a black pistol and attempting to reload the magazine. Mickalowski complied when officers told him to put the gun down and it was determined that the weapon was a BB gun.

The gun was seized as evidence and Mickalowski was issued an infraction for  illegal discharge of a firearm. Micklowski told police that he had just purchased the weapon at a local Wal-Mart.
