A man was arrested Wednesday evening after breaking the windows of a tow truck, according to police.

The complainant, a 45-year-old Wallingford man, told police he was hiding in the Bates Court parking garage because his tow truck had recently been vandalized, police said.

At about 7:40 p.m., the man reportedly witnessed a Chevrolet Silverado truck pull up and a man, later identified as 65-year-old Norwalk resident Charles Schemera, jump out of the truck and pick up a rock, throwing it through one of the tow truck's windows, according to police.
