Norwalk Man Arrested after Fight in Street

Police were called to the scene of a fight in the middle of a street and arrested one Norwalk man.

A fight at Tucker's Cafe, 174 Main St., led to the arrest on Tuesday of a 30-year-old Norwalk man.

Norwalk police gave this account of the incident:

Shortly after 7 p.m., police were called to the scene where men were reported fighting in the middle of the street. One victim had a blood on the right side of his face.

One man punched another and, when the man was lying on the ground, kicked him in the stomach. Numerous people helped break up the fight, which started after a verbal altercation in the restaurant.

Taylor, identified as one of the men fighting, was later found by police in a Toyota Corolla on Fort Point Street.

Taylor, of High Street, was charged with third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault and two counts of second-degree breach of peace. He was initially held on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Oct. 18 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
