Love Hurts. Norwalk Man Cuts Himself After Failed Relationship

Distraught after a relationship ends, a Norwalk man cuts his wrist before getting arrested.

Apparently heartbroken over a relationship gone bad, a Norwalk man allegedly violated a protective order and according to Norwalk Police officials, made a suicide attempt before being arrested on November 28.

James Morris, 35, whose last known address was 8 Heather, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, criminal violation of a protective order, and third-degree criminal trespass. His bond was set for $50,000

On November 28, a woman who had been in a relationship with Morris, called police to say that Morris had visited her home in violation of a protective order. The woman told police that Morris was distraught and told her that he "cannot live without the lady in his life." According to police officials, Morris threw an object at the window in the woman's bedroom, then punched a picture on the wall causing glass to shatter onto the floor.

According to the police report, Morris then displayed a knife and cut himself on the wrist. He then left with a significant cut on his wrist and was bleeding profusely. Police officials said they used a K-9 team in a search for Morris throughout the neighborhood but were unsuccesful.

Police officials said they discovered that Morris had gone to the home of a relative of the woman he had been in a relationship with. He was then transported to Norwalk Hospital where he was treated for the cut to his wrist that was made in an apparent suicide attempt, according to the police report.

After receiving treatment for his wound at Norwak Hospital, Morris was taken into custody without incident at 4:10pm on Monday.

UNDER ARREST AT KOHL'S

On November 28, the Norwalk Police Department received a call about a possible larceny at Kohl's department store on Connecticut Avenue.

According to police officials, Sharon Rotunda, who has a lengthy arrest history going back to the 1980's, was seen walking into the jewelry section of the store where she allegedly put a bracelet in her pocket. Rotunda then wandered into the shoe section where she was allegedly seen switching out a pair of new boots for her old ones. After passing through the register area without paying, Rotunda was apprehended and arrested.

The total value of the items Rotunda allegedly took from the store was $182. She was charged with sixth-degree larcency. Bond was set at $5,000.
