Norwalk H.S. Student Accused of Filching Cash From Backpacks

Caught after bragging about thefts, police said.

A 15-year-old Norwalk High School student was arrested Monday for allegedly stealing money from students' backpacks.

Police spokesman Lt. Praveen John said the student is accused of going through backpacks in the boys locker room and taking cash out of three of them amounting to $114.

John said the victims of the thefts heard he was bragging about taking the money and reported that to school administrators. School security officers took him into custody.
