Norwalk Fire Displaces Family of Four

The fire took place on Taylor Ave. and took roughly 30 minutes to bring under control

A family of four was displaced after their home was lost to a fire Tuesday night, Deputy Chief Steven Shay released in a statement.

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a call at 37 Taylor Ave. and discovered a three-story apartment house with heavy fire showing through third-story windows.

All of the occupants had escaped the flames, and 26 firefighters, three engines, two trucks and a rescue vehicle responded and proceeded to extinguish the blaze in approximately 30 minutes.

After putting out the flames, the house was deemed unfit for occupancy. The Red Cross was helping to relocate the family. No injuries were reported.
