Norwalk Fire Chief Cautiously Optimistic About Proposed Smoke Detector Bill

The proposed bill — drafted in response to the that of three children and two adults — would require smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to be installed in all new residential structures. It essentially strengthens a current law requiring smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to be installed in all residential structures designed for more than two families by requiring that they be installed in all new residential dwellings, no matter the size.
