Norwalk Man Tased, Arrested Following Mishap

Norwalk police responded to 133 Monterey Place Thursday afternoon after a concerned neighbor reported that a man was acting erratically, police said.

When police arrived the man refused to comply with orders to sit down. The officer then noticed the man had something that resembled crack cocaine clinched in his hand, police said.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Daries Manigo, of Norwalk, also had stuffed narcotics in his mouth in an attempt to ingest them, police said.

Police eventually tased Manigo after he continuously failed to comply with orders. He was then taken to Norwalk Hospital, police said.

Manigo was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a housing project, sale of narcotics, sale of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a housing project, and criminal trespassing, police said.

Manigo was issued a $25,000 bond. He is due in court May 10.
