Multiple Charges for Norwalk Man with Two Blown Out Tires in His Driveway

Miguel Gonzalez, 57, of 127 Harbor Drive in Norwalk was arrested on Jan. 11 on multiple charges after a bizarre incident in his driveway at around 6:30p.m.

According to Norwalk Police, Gonzalez, had been driving his '91 Mercury Marquis when his car was involved in an accident in his driveway. Police said when they responded to a 911 call Gonzalez' car was half way in the driveway of 127 Harbor Drive with two flat tires and fresh damage that included damage to the front bumper. When police arrived, Gonzalez was sitting in the driver's seat, but witnesses indicated he had been attempting to flee before police arrived.

According to Norwalk Police Gonzalez said he did not know how the accident happened, but said that his tires had just blown up. 

Police said Gonzalez person smelled of alcohol, and that he slurred his words and his eyes were glassy. Gonzalez admitted to having had two beers but failed two breath tests, blowing a .26 BAC on the first test and .24 on the second test.

Gonzalez was charged with Evading Responsibility, DUI and Failure to Drive in Proper Lane. He was held on $2,500 bond and has a date in court on Jan. 16, 2013.
