Multi-Car Accident in Norwalk Sends 10 to Hospital

A multi-car accident on I-95S sent 10 of the 17 people involved in the crash to the hospital, many of those transported being children.

 

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a multi-car accident on I-95 South Sunday evening, Sept. 16, at approximately 8:15 p.m., according to a statement released by Deputy Chief Edward Prescott.

The accident involved seven different vehicles, four in one incident and three in another, with one accident being cited as the cause for the other. Four ambulances—two from Norwalk and two from Westport—responded to the scene to transport approximately 10 of the 17 occupants involved to Norwalk Hospital. None of the injuries were listed as life threatening, though several of the victims were children.

The accident took approximately an hour to clear. Connecticut State Police are handling the investigation into the accident.
