Motorcycle vs. Car Collision Results in Summonses All Around

A traffic accident Tuesday morning in which a motorcyclist crashed into the side of an SUV has resulted in both drivers being cited by police.

The accident, reported at 9:11 a.m., occurred on Grumman Avenue where it intersects with Mohawk Drive.

Investigators’ reports say the operator of a 2013 Lincoln Town Car SUV was traveling southbound on Grumman Avenue and turned left onto Mohawk Drive, cutting in front of the northbound motorcycle.

The driver of the car, Marlon Morales, reportedly told officers he didn’t see the oncoming motorcycle. He said as he was making the turn there was a hard impact against the passenger side of his vehicle.

The operator of the motorcycle, Carlton Bavor, reportedly told officers he was northbound on Grumman Avenue when Morales’ car turned in front of him, resulting in him crashing into it.

Police said Bavor was conscious and alert as he lay on the roadway, with blood running out of his nose. He was transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital.

Morales, 42, of 531 Ezra St., Bridgeport, was issued a summons for failing to yield while turning left.

Bavor, 50, of 218 Grumman Ave., received summonses for operating an unregistered vehicle and operating a vehicle without insurance.
