A Greenwich woman was arrested Monday evening for allegedly having her 12-year-old son shoplift a pair of sneakers from Bob’s Store at 380 Main Ave.

Police said Josane Doyle, 46, of 38 St. Roch Pl., was in the store with her son when he put on a new pair of sneakers, put the empty box back on the shelf, and then put his old sneakers on a rack. He then walked away.

Doyle went to a checkout counter to pay for merchandise she was holding, but, police said, she had other items hidden. Including the sneakers, police said Doyle intended to steal $89 worth of merchandise.

Unreported Return of a Stolen Car Leads To Arrests

A Bridgeport man’s failure to notify police he had recovered his stolen car led to him and two friends being arrested on drug and weapons charges.

Some time in the past Michael Parks reported to Bridgeport Police the theft of his car, which he eventually recovered. However he didn't notify police he'd gotten the car back, so it remained listed as stolen.

Parks was parked in the Monterey Village housing complex in South Norwalk with two friends at shortly before 5 p.m. Monday when a patrol officer drove by and ran the license plate.

The 1996 Mercury Sable came back as stolen, so the officer approached the men and began questioning.

Police said an 8 1/2 inch long knife was found in the car, and Parks allegedly had on him a straw with crack cocaine residue in it and a folded receipt holding crack cocaine.

Parks, 47, of 3275 Main St., was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession and sale of drugs within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, and conspiracy to possess a weapon in a motor vehicle.

The other two in the car, Shanee McFadden, 39, of 257 Madison Ave., Bridgeport, and John Wright, 70, of 80 Fair St., Norwalk, were charged with possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle
and conspiracy to possess a weapon in a motor vehicle.

Parks was held on $5,000 bond and assigned a court date of Sept. 21.

McFadden was held on $250 bond. The police arrest log did not show a bond for McFadden. Both were assigned court dates of Sept. 21.
