Men Allegedly Steal Ring off 91-Year-Old Woman's Finger

Norwalk Police incidents and arrests on April 2.

Two Hispanic men in their 40s allegedly stole a ring off a 91-year-old woman’s finger after they forced their way into her home.

Police said the Fox Run Road resident had returned home from shopping when two men approached her, wearing sweatshirts and hard hats, and told her there was a gas leak in the area. The men said they wanted to check inside her home to make sure everything was okay. The woman told them they couldn’t, but they followed her inside anyway.

Police said the men told the woman to wash her hands to make sure the water was okay, but told her to take off her ring before doing so. She declined. The men then held her arms and took the ring off her fingers.
