Man, Woman Arrested for Violating Protective Orders Against Each Other

A Bridgeport woman and man were arrested in Norwalk Thursday night for allegedly violating protective orders against one another, according to police.

A disturbance was called into police from 45 Ely Ave. at about 10:30 p.m. When police arrived, they reportedly witnessed a 19-year-old Bridgeport female being pushed repeatedly onto the sidewalk by an 18-year-old Bridgeport male as she attempted to stand up, according to police. The female was yelling, "Let me up," police said.

Police took the male into custody and found that the female had active protective orders against the male, and the male had protective orders against the female as well, according to police.

The male stated they had been at a friend's house and had begun arguing while walking away from the friend's, police said. The argument reportedly got out of hand and the male claimed he had been preventing the female from standing up because he didn't want her to walk away, according to police.

The two were both charged with creating a public disturbance and criminal violation of a protective order. Each of their bonds was set at $5,000, and their court dates are set for July 19, according to the police arrest log.
