Man with 40 Grams of Crack Arrested by Norwalk Police

Antoine Banks, 31, of 5 Hanford Street in Norwalk was arrested Thursday night on multiple charges involving the sale of crack cocaine. According to Norwalk Police Dept. Special Services Lt. Walsh, Banks had been previously arrested on six counts of selling crack to an undercover officer and was free on bond. Special Services received information that Banks had nevertheless sold crack on four recent occasions and executed a warrant Thursday night for Banks in the parking lot of Rite Aid on East Eve.

According to Lt. Walsh, Banks resisted arrest, necessitating that police use a taser to subdue him. Banks, who injured his finger during the arrest, was found to have 40 grams of crack in his pocket, "all rocked up and ready for distribution on the streets," according to Walsh. 

Banks, was treated and released from Norwalk Hospital for the injury to his finger and was issued a cash bond of $100,000 on site, plus $100,000 on each warrant. He has a court date of Jan. 9, 2014.
