Man, Juvenile Arrested in Connection to West Cedar Avenue Shooting

Kevin McBride, 19, and a juvenile were arrested for allegedly shooting a man during an altercation near Caribbean Grocery, according to police.

 

A 19 year-old man and a juvenile were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly shooting another man in the chest during an altercation on West Cedar Avenue, according to police.

The department received reports of shots fired near Caribbean Grocery at around 6:30 p.m., police said. Upon arrival, patrol units set up a perimeter, and with help from witnesses, were able to track the suspects, police said. Kevin McBride, 19, of 24 Anderson Road and a juvenile were found hiding underneath a porch and both were taken into custody, police said.

The victim was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment, but his condition is currently unknown, according to police. McBride was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, conspiracy and criminal trespassing. His bond was set at $100,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on April 19.
