Man Hired to Perform Storm Clean-up Accused of Theft

Allegedly stole homeowners' property.

A Bronx, NY, man hired to provide storm clean-up and restoration services at a Norwalk home was arrested Thursday for allegedly stealing cash and jewelry, and attempting to steal other property.

Police said a resident of the Rowayton Avenue home noticed $20 was missing from her pocketbook. She called police and officers questioned the man, Tishan Maile, who was employed by a New York company

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Lisa Cotto said officers found Maile in possession of a ring and a Swiss Army knife that belonged to the homeowners. In addition, Cotto said, a duffle bag was found inside the house containing a Sony laptop computer and a Vivitar camera also belonging to them.

Maile, 22, of 862 219th St., was charged with sixth-degree larceny and criminal attempt to commit fifth-degree larceny. He was held on $2,000 bond and given a court date of Nov. 8.
