Man Found Stabbed On Charles Street Wednesday

Victim says assailant used ice pick or smilar instrument.

A Bridgeport man was found stabbed in front of a residence at 1 Charles St. in East Norwalk Wednesday afternoon.

The 40-year-old victim told police he was attacked by an intoxicated man who refused to leave the property. He said his assilant stabbed him with an ice pick or similar incident.

Police said the victim had puncture wounds to his right upper shoulder, left abdomen and upper head. He was conscious and alert when police arrived and was transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital for treatment.

Police received a call at 2:43 p.m. reporting a man had fallen down a flight of stairs and had a head injury. The first officer to arrive found the man laying on the front lawn at the Charles Street address.

After a brief conversation with the victim, the officer broadcast the incident involved a stabbing and additonal officers were dispatched to the location.

The victim told police his attacker was a Hispanic male about 5-feet 4-inches tall and weighing 150-to-170 pounds. He said the man was wearing brown painter's pants, a green shirt with a landscaper's logo printed on it, and a red hat. Officers deployed throughout the neighborhood were unable to find anyone matching that description.

The victim said he was visiting a woman who lives in the house and was sitting on the front porch when his assailant walked onto the property and approached him. He told police he yelled at the man to leave, but he continued walking toward him.

He said he then grabbed the man and attempted to physically remove him from the property when the man began stabbing him.

Detectives were called to the scene to investigate the incident.
