Man Faces Numerous Narcotics Charges on Multiple Warrants

A city man faces 20 narcotics-related charges after being arrested Wednesday afternoon following a foot chase in East Norwalk.

Police say Dale “City” Washington fled as officers approached him on Norden Place. He was eventually stopped after police K-9 Czar caught up with Washington and bit him on the leg.

Police executed four arrest warrants for Washington, each charging him with possession of narcotics; illegal manufacture, distribution or sale of a narcotic or hallucinogenic substance; possession or sale of heroin or cocaine within 1,500 feet of a school;and illegal possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school.

Each of the warrants had a court set bond of $50,000.

In addition, after being taken into custody, officers searched a Norwalk apartment Washington had been at earlier in the day and found 42 bags of heroin and 12 grams of crack cocaine, according to the commander of the Special Services Unit, Lt. James Walsh. As a result, Walsh said, Washington was additionally charged in an on-site arrest with the same four narcotics charges found in the warrants.

Bond was again set at $50,000.

Washington was treated at Norwalk Hospital for his dog bite injury, then was transported to Police Headquarters.

Washington, 31, of 13 Lincoln Ave., was held on combined bonds of $250,000 and given a court date of June 11.
