Man Arrested for Attempting to Steal $13 Bottle of Wine

The owner and an employee of the store pursue Crescenzo Malagisi after he fled the store, according to police.

 

A city man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly tried to steal a bottle of wine valued at $13 from Harbor View Wine & Spirits, according to police.

Crescenzo Malagisi, 37, of 18 Monroe St., was allegedly took the bottle of wine and fled from the store while an employee looked on, according to police. The employee and the owner both chased Malagisi to retrieve the bottle of wine, but lost him near Cablevision on Martin Luther King Drive.

Officers later found Malagisi at Ash Creek Saloon and charged him with sixth-degree larceny. Police said the bottle of wine was later found intact on the ground along the path where Malagisi was pursued. His bond is set at $250 and he scheduled to appear in court on March 22.

Norwalk police arrested a 32 year-old Norwalk woman on Saturday after officers found marijuana and other drug paraphernalia in her home.

According to police, officers received a call that officers were needed at 29 High Street. When the officers arrived and knocked on the door, a female voice said that she would not let them in. Police said that the officers could hear a young woman screaming inside the house. After trying to force their way into the house, they saw Tiffany Wills of 29 High Street trying to escape the home through a window.

When the officers entered the home, they found the young woman, who was Wills' daughter, screaming in the living room. Narcotics that later tested positive for marijuana were found in plain view, as well as a dark brown cigar.  Police contacted the young woman's grandmother, who took her into her custody.

Wills was charged with interfering with an officer, disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance and risk of injury to a child. Her bond is set at $5,000 and she is scheduled to appear in court on March 19.


Other Arrests

Oscar Acevedo, 49, of 18 Monroe Street, Norwalk, was arrested on Monday and charged with disorderly conduct and violation of conditions of release in the second-degree.

Dennis Jones, 38, of 143 Livingston St., Bridgeport, was arrested on Sunday and charged with operating an unregistered vehicle and no insurance.

Roque Collazo, 21, of 133 Monterey St. Norwalk, was arrested on Sunday and charged with second-degree breach of peace.

Randy Fedor, 21, of 391 Newtown Ave., Norwalk, was arrested on Sunday and charged with second-degree breach of peace.

David Jordan, 47, of 2 Grove St, Norwalk, was arrested on Sunday and charged with disorderly conduct and assault.
