Hidden Cameras On Mother Leads To Arrest
A Norwalk man installs hidden cameras after suspecting child-abuse.
A Norwalk woman was arrested on Wednesday after the Norwalk Police Department received videotapes of her allegedly physically and verbally abusing her children.
Lisa Livia, 44, of 25 Huckleberry Road, was arrested after a month-long investigation that started on October 12 after a complaint from the father of their four young children. According to police officials, the father, after suspecting Livia was abusing their children, set up hidden cameras in the home on Huckleberry Road which is still in his name. He no longer lives at that residence.
According to police officials, the man came to headquarters with tape or a disc of the alleged incidents of abuse that occurred over the last month by Livia. The police reviewed the incidents, which according to Sgt. Lisa Cotto included an incident that showed Livia, "pulling a 3-year old child by the arm and throwing her on the couch while screaming obscenities at the child."

According to Cotto, police observed many instances of Livia screaming profanity-laced attacks on her children, ranging in ages from three to 12. In addition, police officials said the physical abuse and profanity escalated. Cotto stated that "there was so much yelling going on, the children seemed unaffected and disconnected by the use of profanity."
Livia, who had no prior criminal record, was charged with third-degree assault; injury, risk, and impairing morals; and disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $250,000. Livia was set to appear in court on November 17.
