A Shelton man was shot in the leg as he ran away from some people he was arguing with in South Norwalk. He told police couldn't remember who he was arguing with.

An 18-year-old Shelton man in South Norwalk was shot in one of his legs Friday evening after he got into an argument with some males, and when he collapsed on the back porch of a nearby house, the owner pointed a gun at him.

Police were told the victim was in Norwalk to make a rap recording with two men, Quentin Lyde, 22, of 16 Edgewood St., Norwalk and Jerome Lyde, 21, of Bridgeport. All three of the men went to 105 Woodward Ave. to meet with some other people when an argument broke out.

He came outside with his gun and pointed it at the victim, who was lying on the resident's back steps with one of the Lydes nearby. The resident had a permit for the gun and had done nothing illegal.

The Lydes each were arrested: Quentin Lyde on a charge of third-degree criminal trespass, and Jerome Lyde on the same charge, along with a charge of violation of probation. Quentin Lyde initially was held on $10,000 bond; Jerome on $30,000 bond.

Police said the Shelton man's wound appeared to be minor. By Monday afternoon, the victim was not in Norwalk Hospital, a spokeswoman said.

Correction: The victim's age was originally given as 21. In fact, he is 18 years old.
