Four Women Injured in Two-Car Accident on Connecticut Avenue

City firefighters responded to a serious two car accident on Thursday evening that occurred in the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Richards Avenue, according to a statement released by the Norwalk Fire Department.

One car remained in the intersection while the other jumped the curb and struck a utility pole head on, the department said. The car from the intersection had minor damage and an uninjured driver. The late model Isuzu Rodeo contained five people inside—four women and one man—and all four women were transported to Norwalk Hospital. Three of the women had to be boarded and collared as a precaution due to the severity of the impact with the pole. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Norwalk police controlled traffic in the busy intersection and conducted their investigation and CL&P responded to the scene to repair a broken cross member holding primary power lines at the top of the utility pole, according to the department.
