Fight Last January Leads to Warrant Arrest of Norwalk Resident

Accused of confronting a man about a car part, then striking him in the head with a hammer.

A city resident was arrested by warrant Tuesday for his alleged involvement in a fight four months ago with a man he said owed him a car part.

Police said Nathaniel David Rodriguez confronted Derek R. Lehn last Jan. 31 because Lehn owed him a $100 engine mount. The incident took place in the parking lot of the GNC store at 438 Westport Ave.

Lehn was arrested immediately following the incident on charges of third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

Police spokesman Sgt. James Walsh said it appears Rodriguez was arrested because he finally gave investigators an accurate account of his actions during the fight. Walsh said Rodriguez is accused of hitting Lehn in the back of his head with a short sledgehammer.

Rodriquez, 18, of 3 Kittredge St., came to police headquarters in response to the warrant. He was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
