Serial Bank Robbery Suspect, Luis Alomar, Arrested on Long Island

Luis Alomar, a suspected serial bank robber, has been arrested in Medford, New York.

According to information from the FBI released Tuesday morning, Luis Alomar was taken into custody at approximately 2:30am Tuesday, Dec. 24 in Medford, Long Island.

Several agencies assisted assisted in the apprehension of Alomar including the FBI, Suffolk County PD, Westchester County Police Dept., Yonkers Police Dept., New York State Parole and Greenwich, Connecticut Police Dept.

Luis Alomar was wanted for his alleged connection to a series of bank robberies along the eastern seaboard of the United States, including several in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.

According to the FBI statement issued Tuesday morning, "Greenwich Detectives have worked in cooperation with many state local and federal agencies since the Peoples Bank robbery this summer. Last night, Greenwich detectives were part of the FBI operation to apprehend Alomar."
