East Norwalk Church Theft Yields TVs, Cash

No evidence of forced entry. Also, homeowner holds suspect for allegedly stealing bicycles.

The custodian of St. Thomas The Apostle Church Monday morning reported a burglary that resulted in the loss of four flat screen TVs and $214 in cash.

Sgt. James Boff said there was no sign of a forced entry into the church at 208 East Ave. in East Norwalk.

Beside the TVs, Boff said $214 in cash was missing from a safe.

Bikes Stolen, Suspect Held, Arrested

A Bridgeport man was arrested Monday for allegedly stealing two bicycles from the yard of a Woodward Avenue home.

Police were contacted at 11:25 a.m. by the owner of the residence who, police said, reported he was holding a man he watched break the lock on a gate and make off with two of four bicycles in his yard.

Suspect Luis Quadano, 27, of4046 Main St., was charged with sixth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal trespass.

Quadano was held on $500 bond and given a court date of Nov. 23.
