Drug Sales Rep Loses Pills in Car Burglary

Silver necklace and cross not belonging to victim found below car's smashed out window.

A drug company sales representative who lives at 21 Ann Street called police Sunday morning to report a bag containing prescription drugs was stolen from her car.

The driver's side rear window was smashed and a red bag containing drugs from her employer, GlaxoSmithKline, was taken, police said.

The woman reportedly told an officer drugs for erectile disfunction, enlarged prostate and high bloodstream tri-glycerides were in the bag, although she did not have an exact inventory of its contents.

She found a sterling silver necklace and a silver cross on the ground below the broken window that did not belong to her.

One Shoplifting Suspect Nabbed, One Escapes

Police were called to Costco, 779 Connecticut Ave., Saturday afternoon on a shoplifting report.

The store's manager told officers a man and woman attempted to steal a Galaxy tablet computer worth $429.99.

Store security grabbed and held the woman, but the man fled and got away.

LaTorchia Diaz, 35, of 244 Ridge Ave., Bridgeport, was charged with criminal attempt at six-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit six-degree larceny. She was held on $5,000 bond and given a court date of April 12.

Two Unlocked Cars Burglarized

A resident of 8 Lubrano Pl. reported a car burglary Sunday morning.

The victim said the Ford Contour was unlocked and parked across the street from her home. Taken was a GPS unit worth $99, her husband's wallet and prescription drugs.

Sunday night, a resident of 2 Monroe St. reported items were taken from her unlocked car. Stolen were an iPad, a MacBook Pro laptop computer, and $2,000 cash.

The woman told an officer she thought the car was locked, but the passenger door was found unlocked and there was no sign of forced entry.
