Driver Hurt in I-95 Rollover in Norwalk

Emergency crews from Darien and Norwalk responded to a report of an accident on I-95 southbound, between exits 13 and 14, near the town line and discovered a 2007 Nissan Xterra which had come to rest upside down against the center divider.

A driver was reportedly injured in a single car rollover accident at about 8 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 95 southbound between exits 13 and 14 in .

According to a report from the , emergency crews from Darien and Norwalk responded to a report of an accident near the town line and discovered a 2007 Nissan Xterra which had flipped and come to rest upside down against the center divider. A passing motorist had already assisted the driver and lone occupant out of the vehicle. The driver was treated at the scene and transported to Norwalk Hospital.

Connecticut State Police are investigating the accident. At the time of the report the condition of the driver was unknown — however he was stabilized with a backboard for potential spinal injuries at the scene, according to the report.

Firefighters remained on scene until 8:49 am to provide assistance to the state police until the vehicle was righted and towed off the highway.
