Did She Take a Bite Out of Crime?

In today's short OMG PD installment, a house alarm leads to a marijuana arrest, and a bitten tongue to a sexual assault arrest.

After checking on a routine house alarm, Shelton police discovered in various stages of growth in a town couple's home. Police initially became suspicious about the home after an officer who, checking on the alarm, entered through an unsecured door and inside smelled and discovered "a large amount" of marijuana. Police then obtained a warrant, yielding discovery of the marijuana grow.

Stamford police a 46-year-old man on sexual assault charges, alleging that a woman in self-defense bit off a piece of his tongue. The victim told police the she was approached by the man while she was walking in a downtown alley. He asked her for a hug and when she refused, he grabbed her. After a struggle, the man stuck his tongue into the victim's mouth. She then bit down on his tongue and tore off a substantial piece. Officers caught up to him the next day when he tried to get his injury treated at a local chiropractic office. The piece of his tongue that was bitten off remains in a freezer at the police department.
