Cracked Windshield leads to Multiple Possession Charges

Police say, a Norwalk woman who was the passenger in a vehicle was arrested after officers found a "hard, rock-like substance" in her possession.

Police say, Betty Rorie, 47,  was arrested Feb. 20 after police found several "baggies" containing a illegal substance and a glass tube, both in her possession and in the car she was a passenger in. 

According to police, the vehicle Rorie was travelling in was pulled over for a severely cracked wind shield. When the officer approached the car, Rorie was seen trying to conceal a crushed Newport ciggarette box in her armpit, police say. The police report indicated that Rorie was "breathing heavily" and when she was asked for the ciggarette box, she claimed she "didn't have one."

Police say, Rorie was charged with use and possession of drug parephernalia, possession of narcotics, illegal possession near a school,  sale and possession within distance of a school, illegal manufacturing, distribution, sale, and prescription, and possession of paraphernalia within 1500 feet of a school. 

According to police, Rorie was held on a $15,000 bond and is due to appear in court March 1.

Police say, two men, were assaulted and robbed Tuesday at 1:30am on Wall Street.

The two men (who are brothers), ages 24 and 33, claimed they were walking home from a party when a dark color pickup truck stopped near them and 2 men got out, according to police. The complainants said, the men hit them with their fists and took money and a wallet from the brothers. The men were unsure of how much money was taken, acording to police reports. 

Police say, one man suffered an injury to his lip and was treated and released at Norwalk Hospital. No serious or life threatening injuries were reported. 

The investigation is ongoing, according to Norwalk Police.

Police say, a Dwayne Harper, 18, of Norwalk was arrested saturday after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend.

After a verbal arguement, that resulted in the woman being locked out of the apartment Harper was occupying, police say, the female complainant called claiming to have been hit with a baseball bat. Police say, the woman was treated and released at Norwalk Hospital

According to police, Harper gave a false name upon questioning adding an additional charge of disorderly conduct to charges of assault and breach of peace. Harper was held on a $25,000 bond and was due to appear in court Feb. 21.
