Darien Cops: Drugged Teen Ran Naked into Strangers' Home with Kids

Some hallucinogenic drug may have been a factor in this teenager's wild, naked caper through a Darien neighborhood, according to a Darien police report.

One Darien family, incluiding two small children, was confronted in their own home late Monday afternoon by a naked 19-year-old running around under the influence of some hallucinogen, Darien police said.

Police were first called to Stephen Mather Road on the report of a naked man running through yards.

According to police, Eric Christensen of Thomasina Lane then entered an unlocked but occupied house and ran around naked in there, including in a room occupied by two small children.

Arriving police had to fight with Christensen before they brought him under control, and then it was only by bringing out a taser and using it on him, police said.

Here's the Darien Police news release about the incident:

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on June 30, 2014, the Darien Police Department received numerous reports of a naked male running through yards on Stephen Mather Road. The male was reportedly attempting to gain entry to several residences.

Officers arrived on scene and observed a white male without clothes on in the area of Maplewood Drive.  Upon seeing officers the male ran off and a foot pursuit ensued.  The naked male subsequently entered an unlocked home on Stephen Mather Road which was occupied by the residents.

The subject proceeded to run through the residence refusing to comply with officer’s commands and entered a room that was occupied by two small children.

Officers then fought with the subject and were forced to taser him in order to subdue him.  The subject was then taken into custody and no injuries were reported.

The subject was identified as Eric Christensen, age 19, of 17 Thomasina Ln. Darien.  It was determined that Christensen was under the influence of a hallucinogenic narcotic and was subsequently hospitalized.

Later that evening Christensen was released from the hospital and turned over to Darien Police.  Christensen was then charged with second-degree burglary, risk of injury to a minor and interfering with an officer.
